Evaluation & Diagnosis

Description: This is your first appointment with our provider Arlene. During this appointment, information will be gathered about the nature and history of your symptoms as well as information about any past psychiatric treatment. A diagnosis will be determined, and we will develop a treatment plan. Medications can be provided at this first appointment if determined to be appropriate. If you can, please provide a copy of your most recent lab work and blood pressure.

Medication Management

Medication management is an essential aspect of comprehensive mental health care. It refers to the evaluation, recommendation, and ongoing monitoring of medications by a psychiatric team to address mental health conditions. Currently, one in six Americans take some form of mental health medication. With several hundred psychiatric medications available on the market, finding the medicines most suited to treating an individual’s mental health condition can be overwhelming. We remain informed of the most up-to-date research on medications. This allows us to help guide you to a medication that meets your specific needs.

ADHD Evaluation and treatment

When determining an ADHD diagnosis, we begin with a thorough ADHD evaluation that might include a review of your medical history, and symptoms. After we have reached a diagnosis, we will discuss the treatments we offer that are best suited for your situation. We want to support our patients on their journey to take back their lives, which includes personalized treatment options that fit their unique needs. Depending on the full spectrum of your medical history and mental health needs, prescription medication, or a combination of therapies could be included in your treatment plan.

Medical Cannabis Cards

Initial patients must be seen in-person – $65

Identify if You Have a Qualifying Condition: Individuals with one or more of the conditions listed in the Utah Medical Cannabis Act are authorized to receive a medical cannabis patient card. The conditions include chronic pain, cancer, HIV or AIDS, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, PTSD, and several other medical conditions that significantly impact daily living. Restrictions: Patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding. We advise you to consult you Human Resource Department at work to ensure that you are eligible for a cannabis card without jeopardizing your employment.

  1. Make an Appointment to Meet with Arlene: We are currently accepting patients 21 years of age and older.
  2. Register With the Department of Health: Create a Utah ID and register for a Medical Cannabis Card through the Department of Health EVS. We will walk you through the process if you are unable to navigate the website.
  3. Meet With Arlene: Meet with a QMP that believes in the use of cannabis and its derivatives as a successful therapeutic option for patients suffering from chronic and debilitating illnesses. The medical cannabis card entitles patients to legal protection afforded by the Medical Cannabis Decriminalization Act memorialized in Utah State Code 58-37-3.7.
  4. Visit a Dispensary / Pharmacy: Your Medical Cannabis Card will be issued electronically. Once you receive your card, you can visit a Utah Dispensary and start your treatment.

Renewal of your Cannabis Card may be done via telehealth – $50

Therapy

We are here to carry your burdens and help you believe in yourself. Coaching is available for children, adolescents, and adults. Parent coaching is incorporated into child and adolescent sessions.

Being both a Family Nurse Practitioner and a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner provides a broad foundation to look at the whole person, not just pieces. If needed, we can order labs or tests to understand not just your mind, but your physical body.
